Circuit's explanation
As the description of this article told you, its quite easy to make a bluetooth connection for your Roomba. All you need to have is a prefboard, a Bluetooth module (BlueSmirf Silver) a voltage regulator and bunch of headers and wires. I also asume that you have a soldering Iron and you do have a bit of expirience with soldering! So here is the recommended components list:
Here is the circuit's schematic: The circuit explanation is quite trivial. Since Roomba's battery operates in range of 14V to 20V, a voltage regulator (LM7805) is necessery to regulate the Roomba's voltage to 5V that is the suitable voltage for BlueSmirf Silver" Bluetooth module. The resistor and LED are optional, the LED will just show if the board is connected to Roomba. Also you may add a On/Off switch in series with +14V from roomba to be able to turn the whole circuit on or off. For more explanation and the demo please watch my video on YouTube: Once you built the circuit, go ahead and use any Roomba Control app from google's app store.
